About our Spanish Teachers:

Sandra L. Caro

I was born in Bogota, Colombia, where I graduated as Food Processing Engineer from Jorge Tadeo Lozano University, and studied English as a second language at the Colombo Americano; worked for two years as a post harvest manager in the second largest flower exporter company HOSA group. I lived in England: two years in London where I voluneered at the Children of Andes (a Charity Foundation), studied English proficiency and took courses in economy to be prepared to undertake a Master in Business Administration (MBA) at Nottingham University in England. In 1996, I completed the MBA, and went back to Bogota where I worked for a year in the Colombian State Oil Company Ecopetrol, at the finance and planning department. In 2000 I came to New Haven where I reunited with my mother and sisters. I did a Master degree in Urban Planning at Southern Connecticut State University and volunteered in a number of organization for five years. With Literacy Volunteers of Greater New Haven at Yale "la Casa" I have taught English E.S.O.L. for five years from survival to advance level. With Yale University, Connecticut Mental Health and the Hispanic Clinic I worked as researcher for four years and in 2001 Co-coordinated th first Spanish Conference in Connecticut about emotional problems and addiction. I taught Spanish at Polly McCabe High School Institute and worked at the Financial Department of Saint Raphael Hospital. In September 2004, I was introduced to Aux trois Pommes by a close friend. I have enjoyed every class I have taught as I enjoy teaching and working with children of all ages and adults.
