About our Japanese Teacher
Michiyo Seto
I was born and raised in Japan, and I graduated from Chiba University in Tokyo with a degree in teaching (at high school level). I have lived on and off in Connecticut for more than a decade, as my husband has been teaching at the Japanese Department at Yale.
Both in the US and Japan, I have been enjoying storytelling to children in Japanese, as part of organized play time for children. I have also performed storytelling in various libraries in Japan
I met Marie-Jose fifteen years ago, while she was a student of my husband -- and our sons were born 20 days apart. More recently, I have been working with Marie-Jose to plan the Japanese program of Aux Trois Pommes. I am excited about getting a group of children to discover the Japanese language and culture.
