Siomara Klin

I was born in Brazil where I spent most of my life until I moved to the United States. I completed a masters degree in child psychology in my hometown of Curitiba and became a seasoned mental health professional focused on therapy and education of children.

At that time, I met my husband to be, who is originally from Brazil. My husband, also a child psychologist, is a professor at the Yale School of Medicine. We have 3 beautiful children, and we speak Portuguese at home. Our children go unnoticed in Brazil as they are fluent and feel totally at home there. Interestingly, Portuguese has also become a fantastic platform for the two older children to learn Spanish and French. While Portuguese and Spanish are close in their form, Portuguese and French have similar grammar.

In light of this, I am very excited to join Aux Trois Pommes. It gives me the opportunity to share my home language and culture with others. And for you, prospective student, learning the Portuguese language and the Brazilian culture, will hopefully provide you with the tools to access that magical country. I am looking forward to meeting you and embark on this journey of learning together.
