Dear French students,
We are happy to welcome you again to another year with Aux Trois Pommes!
We are proud to announce our partnership with the Alliance Française of New Haven. This will be an opportunity to strengthen exposure to the French language by participating in the various events that the Alliance offers. The Alliance Française is a not-for-profit organization for the Francophones and Francophiles of the Greater New Haven area. Its mission is to share and promote the various aspects of the French culture. The Alliance Française creates a casual environment where all Francophiles, with any level of French, can be exposed to the language more but also discover or deepen their knowledge of France and other Francophone speaking countries thanks to various gatherings, activities, lecture and events.
Throughout the year the Alliance Française conducts a number of monthly activities:
• Les Causeries : gatherings to speak and practice French
• Le Cine–club: movies and discussions
• Book-club at Yale Bookstore
In addition, the Alliance organizes a variety of special events (wine tasting tour, dinner at the Union League Café, celebration on the 400th anniversary of Quebec, etc.) that give members the opportunity to remain in touch with French culture and practice their French.
In order to encourage Aux Trois Pommes students to take advantage of these opportunities, we are waiving the $25 registration fee for all French students who become members of the Alliance.
